Pune Real Estate: Lawyers Claimed Assault And Custody Torture By Police Officers

Kirti Ahuja & Associates filed a writ petition before the Bombay High Court claiming that they were kidnapped, assaulted, held for dacoity and tortured while in police custody by senior officials from the Pune Police.

Kirti Ahuja and Kanika Ahuja approached the Bombay High Court as petitioners in the above matter and have alleged serious offenses against them. In their plea, they state that around 1: 40 am on 17th June 2026, close to 200 police officers from Pune City with gas cutters and sticks barged into the residential society where Kirti Ahuja resided. They arrived in private SUVs and police vans. Most of the officers wore civil dresses and were without any nameplates on their uniforms.

The petition states that 24 people living there (Guests, tenants, elderly lady and infant) were arrested by the police officials illegally without any search warrants. Kanika Ahuja further stated that the male police officers pushed her around, ripped her Saree and beat her on her back and chest.

The petitioners have also stated that this raid was carried out by the Pune Police as they were representing Multi-crore civil cases against builders and the raid was an attempt to terrorize the petitioners. The petition further added that the police cut the electricity lines, turned off CCTV cameras and looted jewelry, cash, and even original lawsuit files from their homes.

The petition highlights shocking irregularities by the police authorities. According to the petition, the Pune Police officials said that they raided the petitioner’s house based on a first information report(FIR). However, upon reading the station’s memo, it was found that the mentioned FIR was only registered at 4: 12 am whereas they were arrested by the police in the early hours of the morning.

The petitioners have also claimed that when they filed a departmental complaint to the DG Mumbai Police, their complaint was sent to the very police officials who atcused them of doing the raid.

The petition has prayed for the Court to order a judicial commission by a sitting or retired High Court Judge and also to initiate criminal proceedings against the accused officials.
