Allahabad HC Orders Police to Present Ayush Malik After Family Detention Allegations

The woman, Chandni Qureshi, and her father were arrested by the police under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 20 21.
Malik had said he had chosen to follow Islam.
His father, a businessman, has, however, alleged that Malik was forced by the woman and her family to convert to Islam so that they could get hold of his property.
And had reverted back to Hinduism.
The habeas corpus petition filed in the High Court claims that Malik has been deprived of his personal liberty by his father with the active collusion of the State.
Petitioner Sultan alleged that he was friends with Malik.
The Allahabad High Court on Friday said.
He further added that if Malik is not produced before the court then the reason for his non-production must be provided by the State along with the efforts made by them to produce Malik in court.
According to Live Law, Malik's father alleged that Malik was kidnapped and converted by force.
Earlier, Malik's father had approached the court with the same plea. Adv Deepak Singh, Mohammad Khalid and Umar Khalid appeared for the petitioner.
